Identify the exact setup
Save the full product name from the package or stringing receipt, gauge, racket model, reference tension and date. Do not merge similarly named RPM products into a single result. If you use a hybrid, write down the mains and crosses separately.
This matters when looking back through several string jobs. “RPM, 50” is much less useful than an identified product, gauge, units and frame.
Keep a fresh reference point
After your first normal session, note the response you want to remember. As you accumulate court time, compare control and feel against that baseline. Record meaningful differences in conditions rather than assuming every off day comes from string age.
When you restring, choose a clear reason: breakage, changed response, a new experiment or planned maintenance. If you replace the strings before they break, your record describes your usable playability window, not ultimate break durability.
Is a hybrid comparison fair?
A hybrid adds another string and sometimes another tension to the comparison. Treat it as its own setup. A result from RPM Blast in the mains with a different cross should not be presented as a measurement of a full bed.
If you are comparing value, include the installed cost of each complete job and the hours you actually used it. Keep those calculations personal; they are not a universal ranking.
