EZONE string setup: from demo to your racket

Identify the EZONE before choosing the setup

EZONE is a family of rackets. The model, generation and string pattern belong in your notes before you compare strings or tensions. An EZONE 98 discussion does not automatically describe an EZONE 100 or a different generation.

Check the manufacturer's guidance for your exact model. A printed tension range is a specification to consult, not proof that every value in that range will feel equally suitable with every material.

Why did the demo feel different?

Try to recover the demo's string name, gauge, reference tension and approximate age. If those details are unavailable, mark them unknown. Guessing them makes later comparisons look more precise than they are.

Keep other differences in view too: balls, session conditions and any modifications to the frame. The name on the racket alone does not reproduce the entire experience.

Turn a complaint into a testable question

Instead of “find the best EZONE string”, describe the specific change you want to investigate. Perhaps you want to compare a different material, try a tension adjustment or see how long a setup remains enjoyable.

Choose a baseline with your stringer, then change one main variable where practical. Record the setup immediately after stringing and add court time to the correct racket. Compare observations at similar points in each string job rather than a fresh setup against a heavily used one without noting the difference.

Keep 98 and 100 results distinguishable

If you test more than one model, create a separate record for each. Save the actual strings and tension alongside the frame, then write a short conclusion about that combination. Avoid turning a preference for one complete setup into a universal verdict on the entire family.

Carry the details into your next restring

Tennistory helps you keep racket specifications, your installed setup and play history together. Use the record to tell your stringer what you tried and what you observed. Estimated tension or string life remains an estimate, rather than a guarantee of performance.

Manufacturer guidance applies to the model it identifies. Check the instructions for your own generation before using a tension or stringing pattern.
